A poster for the 17th dragoons in 1814 states they would take 16 year olds at 5 ft. 2in.!
I saw a breakdown of recruit heights somewhere and very few were above 6 ft. and 6 ft. 2 in. was the tallest listed. People weren't that tall back then.
