The Bedford weekend was very well done thanks Ken.
Some points that need addressing. I realize we are re-enactors and do not hold the emperors promotions but the public informed do ask questions, some that were asked. Do troops not salute the eagles ( answer is yes) at Bedford it was not done by French troops to the 3rd cuirassier eagle. Do troops not salute officers( yes they do) If Garde imperial are present do troops salute them (yes it was the protocol of the time)
For cavalry the most important being in re-enactment is the horse. It must be watered, fed, cleaned, it's area cleaned, feet picked and checked for injury. After use all of the above apply with the addition of cooling the horse off. Horses on the picket line should never be left unattended so if you are the last one there it's your task until some one relieves you.
Just a note.
The cavalry did an excellent job both at Plancenoit and at Bedford. Nick keep up the good work your and excellent example of an officer.
Chris
