Hi,
I've been researching my family tree - in particular, the thespians. My great great aunt was Nellie Estelle ( or Nelly Estelle). She was a dancer in her own right but also ran several dancing troupes: the Elna Trio, the Estelle troupe, the Estelle quartette and similar. A particular triumph seemed to have been "The Magic Dragon of the Demon Dell" (I think it was about 1888) at the Britannia Hoxton. She played Columbine. She was in lots of Pantos all over the country. She was married to Thomas Bold Brydge - also a performer. Their lodger in 1916 was Mack Jollyboy who was a pantomime dame.
If these names ring any bells or if you'd like more information about what I've found out. Please get in touch. Thanks. Chris
