Decorating Scene

Hi there This year we are attempting the decorating routine for the first time in about 20 years !!!! Does anybody have any suggestions for "wallpaper paste" ? I'm not sure that the usual shaving stick/glycerine mix will have the right look and feel ?? Any ideas gratefully accepted. Thanks
