I saw the cannon and ball panto to and Marti Webb was an excellent principle boy ..I saw this years effort and like you I found it a bit too much run to a formula ..like out of a packet ..it looks wonderful but Panto needs good writing to work no matter how many big stars you throw at it ...and some were just doing their act rather then playing panto ..the difference between a panto artist and just a name ..but I am glad they have panto back at the palladium again ..the first one I saw there was back in the 60's "Jack and the beanstalk" with Arthur Askey and Jimmy Tarbuck and that started my love of panto I think I was around 5 years old at the time
: Didnít quite know what to make of this panto
: today. Had seen the bulk of it in Birmingham
: previously. If, like me, you see a lot of
: QDOS pantos, then they seem to follow a
: similar format.
: Sadly for me, I saw the Cannon & Ball
: panto at the London Palladium years ago. It
: had a script that had been specially written
: for the show (and not just adapted).
: Donít get me wrong, it had its moments and
: the cast were equally talented but
: disappointing for me. I know there will be
: lots that totally disagree with me.
