Re: Panto Awards

Here is my take on this.....Al Murray winning was ridiculous, he received awful reviews for his 'phoned in' and very non panto performance, he was a known celeb who agreed to attend this ceremony and for that reason he won. The event itself was under rehearsed, the band kept playing at the wrong time and sometimes played loudly over the presenter so we could not hear him. The organisers were bragging 'an amazing' set ...it was basic at best and I was disgusted at the levels of foul language used throughout by various people including Biggins, language like that is not needed and cheapens the entire event. This is an amateur event posing as a big events ceremony, it is not judged correctly or fairly and the organizers are simply panto fans with an over the top desire to rub shoulders with celebs
: So.... Apart from the actors that have smoke
: blown up them, and of course, the
: organisers, the general view on these awards
: is somewhat poor. Isnít it about time they
: take note of what the panto theatre goers
: think? At the moment they try so
: embarrasingly hard to rub shoulders with the
: stars, and I have not read one good bit of
: feedback from an average panto-goer. My
: advice would be to make these awards seem
: less like a massive casting couch of
: cronies, and involve theatre goers. I mean,
: the organisers donít appear to be much more
: than hardcore fans?? Why not have an online
: voting process?? Why judges who probably
: donít even see all the shows they Ďjudgeí??
: I mean Al Murray won?! Itís embarrasing.
