Americans have never been incredibly successful in pantomime. There was a phase a few years back when they discovered it can be good money, and there was quite a bit of “stunt” casting going on , but beyond making what effectively was a personal appearance, most never really “got” panto . I’m thinking Pamela Anderson , Priscilla Presley, Jerry Hall, Steve Gutenberg, Henry Winkler. David Hasselhof could be an exception , he seems to have been a reasonably effective Hook. But for the Palladium you need more than just a personal appearance .
