I agree, It's interesting how originally the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre announced they would be producing the Cinderella panto in house and then very recently it was announced the panto will now be produced by Imagine Theatre so I think the Grand Theatre must have realised it would cost way too much money for them to produce the show in house without a production company because then they would have had to cover their own costs from the sets, costumes, celebrity casting, cast and crew.
Whereas when the Grand Theatre's panto was produced by Qdos they did all the hard work for them and then went box office split with the Theatre.
I feel the Grand Theatre underestimated the full costs of producing the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre panto in house.
I agree with you about AJ & Curtis being good casting for the panto. Imagine Theatre did say when they announced AJ & Curtis Pritchard that more casting announcements are to be announced soon so we will have to wait and see who else will be joining them. Are you planning on attending Wolverhampton's Cinderella panto this year?
I think the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's panto contract with Qdos came to an end because at the end of the 2019-2020 panto season Qdos lossed Wolverhampton & Liverpool and then at then lossed Llandudno Venue Cymru so I think it's because some theatres contacts with Qdos are ending or coming to an end but why not simply renew them?
I have heard from the managing director of the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre panto that the Cinderella panto will be on a West End scale. So it sounds like Wolverhampton panto fans will have to give Imagine Theatre a chance and then review the show and compare it to a Qdos panto they saw in Wolverhampton previously.
Take care Paul
