This is based on my memory from 2018 & 2019 (18/19 Aladdin at Southend, 19/20 Robin Hood at Southend. From what I can remember, the story wasn't necessarily sacrificed to insert their routines, they were just playing somewhat different characters to what you may be used to seeing in the pantos (Aladdin - Genies of the Ring, Robin Hood - Merry Men, Snow White - Royal Guards). But, as per usual, their routines are great and pyro is used to enhance their routines and keep the audience at the edges of their seats. They are a great act if seeing them in panto for the first time, but I'm not sure if they repeated routines the year after, so for me, I haven't bothered with the Southend panto this year as I want to see someone different as the star casting (AB&D have been in Southend 3 of the last 5 panto seasons), and it's clear they are box office hits as the run has been pretty much sold out for a while now. Hope this helps!
