Welcome to the Isle of Wight Triumph Site
Posted by Silvery on 4/4/2003, 1:01 pm 1970 Triumph 1300fwd. Tax and test till Sept 03, used daily till recently. Starts first time, but engine rattles alot (prolly needs mains and big end shells). Also recently taken to blowing water out the front, could be radiator (the one "fitted" is an Acclaim one!) I have a spare 13/60 engine utterly in bits to use as spares for it (maybe crank?) or to be rebuilt and used as a replacement. Don't have a hoist though! The rear mount (gearbox area) has gone, causing the throttle linkage to fall out when cornering or braking hard... The CV joints make a bit of noise at full lock, and it could prolly do with new pads, but other than that(!) mechanically it seems fine. Had a NOS starter 200 miles or so ago, and other bits as running repairs (engine mount, indicator lens, etc). The body is reasonable (although brown!), but does require one patch on the rear arch, and some cosmetic work. It owes me about £300, but I'd be happy to take less (alot less if needs be) as I need the garage space and money for my current TC and another I own. Mail me for pics, more info, etc. The car is a driver, but due to the bearings and coolant problems, I would recommend a trailer if it's to be moved more than a few miles! mail me at silvery@totalise.co.uk
