I have to admit, I debated picking up this issue knowing what happens to Simon. But it wasn't as bad as I thought.
Yes, Wondy gets beat in the end, but most of the battle was off panel, so who knows what kind of knock-down, drag-out fight it really was? Plus, this was a Wonder Man who's heart wasn't into ambushing Hercules against a berserk-no holding back Herc(in his own book, no less), no shame losing here. And at least Wonder Man was there in the end. Where was the mighty God of War? He took one hit and was out. Simon did get some hits in at first and looked honorable trying to talk Hercules out of fighting...unlike Ares, who started all the trouble by sucker-shooting Herc.
Would I have liked to see Simon put up more of a fight on panel? Sure, but it's Herc's book now, so whatever. Just glad Simon showed he's a better match hand to hand with Hercules than Ares is! One last thing, the artist is the guy taking over Mighty Avengers soon-thought his art was really good.
