: I think Simon needs a relationship in Mighty
: Avengers that mirrors the classic pairing
: with the Beast. That might inspire Bendis
: to write him more than using Wonder Man as
: Generic Strong Guy #812. I nominate The
: Sentry. I know Sentry isn't nearly as funny
: or smart as Hank but the power problems and
: adjustments Sentry has experienced are what
: Simon faced taken to the Nth degree and this
: would give the character a hook to make him
: pop in Mighty Avengers.

Believe it or not, I think Simon and Ares would make an interesting combo. Ares' aggressive nature and Wondy's laid back attitude would compliment each other perfectly. If anyone on the team could put up with Ares' anger issues, it's Simon. He could try to teach Ares anger management while Ares keeps pushing Wondy's buttons and tries to get him to lighten up and be more spontaneous. I could see Ares and Wonder Man going out to a bar and Ares saying, "I'll show you how to meet women, Williams." and Wondy cringing as the crude Ares throws down his rap. Could be worth a few laughs. Although, a few more sucker punches from Ares, like in Hercules' book, and Simon may have to put the God of War in his place!
But I can see what you're saying about Sentry. Having Wonder Man try to help Sentry with his problems would be interesting. But I'm afraid Rob is far beyond Simon's help.
Anyway, NOBODY could replace the Beast!!!
