Iím hanging in there. I like the concept and I plan on sticking with it until the end if for not other reason than its Skrull free and right now I am desperately trying to read anything without them whenever possible. I plan on collecting my way through the whole Secret Invasion thing. I just canít bring myself to drop the Avengers titles in spite of my intense dislike of the invasion in the main titles.
I will say this about the current issue of Avengers/Invaders: I liked the Outlaw Avengers storming the carrier and Clint as Ronin fights Wonder Man in the splash page telling Simon heís on the wrong side. It was a small but cool character moment for Clint.
Ever since he adopted the Ronin guise Clintís been more or less not acting in character. I personally hope Clint becomes Hawkeye again after this whole Secret Invasion thing is over. I feel heís being totally wasted in his Ronin guise and the Young Avengers Hawkeye just isnít cutting it for me. Donít get me wrong, I love the character but she ainít Hawkeye to me. I kind of feel the same way about Red Arrow (Arsenal) compared to Green Arrow. Heís cool and has way more toys to play with, but nothing beats the original for pure character.
Has anyone stuck with Ms Marvel or Avengers the Initiative? So far Iím finding them to be the best titles involved in the crossover. At least things seem to be happening in them concerning the Skrulls and none of the plots and subplots of the titles before the invasion have been sacrificed for the sake of instant replays. Also, I dig Ms. Marvel treating this as a full on war and showing no mercy. Sheís rapidly becoming my favorite Avenger in this whole thing. I only wish Wonder Man were still in her mag for this thing and kicking ass with her.
