I have to agree. The Cat Beast is really just a lame pun shoved on the character during Grant Morrisonís run on X-Men. Donít get me wrong, I love his idea of giving mutants secondary mutations, but he really copped out on the Beast by making him almost a parody of the character of the same name from Beauty & the Beast.
In my opinion, of all the mutant characters that needed a boost from a revamp, Beast wasnít one of them. If there was one good thing that came out of the Skrull Invasion so far it was seeing the classic Beast romping around with Wonder Man, even if he wasnít the real Beast we all came to love in Avengers.
