To be honest, I'm really upset by this. I do not think that Bendis is setting Simon up for anything. I think he was looking for a mid level character that is not in anyone's plans for future stories and he picked one of the most recent Mighty Avengers that isn't in use. I see this as a complete and total brush-off. I think originally Bendis had some type of mild plans for Simon and they just did not work out. Seriously fellas, I think WM is headed out to limbo for quite a while.
: At least its clear he is against the Dark
: Avengers. With all the screen time Sentry
: and Ares were getting on Bendis Mighty
: Avengers I was afraid he was painting these
: two as the Avengers new age powerhouses but
: by aligning them both with the Dark Avengers
: and letting Simon out there are some good

: It's not all bad. At least Wondy has an
: opinion and not just sitting in the
: background. Maybe this is a lead up to Clint
: asking Simon to join up and help take down
: the Dark Avengers.(Let's face it, if the New
: Avengers plan to take on the Dark Avengers,
: they're gonna need some power to help deal
: with Sentry and Ares.) I would love to see a
: P.O.ed Wonder Man FINALLY let loose!
: Heck, with Stark on the run, maybe Clint and
: Mockingbird leave the Avengers and team up
: with Iron Man and Wonder Man to reform the
: West Coast Avengers!
: Either way, Simon's comments could lead him
: to become a player in all this in some way.

: Well we finally get our Simon appearance and
: it isn't pretty in my opinion. Bendis has
: turned Simon into a bitter and angry hero.
: See for yourself:
