Posted by Lenord A few if's for you. IF you have the correct type of stepper you can use it with the new circuitry. IF there is sufficient resolution per microstep you can reuse the gearing on your mount. The circuitry uses the parallel port of a PC to control the steppers. Not an uncommon method of stepper control. You likely will need to scrap your current handpad, yes. It can be replaced with another one. For doing all of this, you get so many more features than what you currently have. Cruise onto Mels site and look at the features you could have if you changed drive systems. Please do remember, the electronics, motors, sofwtare, handpad, cables etc. can be reinstalled on a larger mount in the future when you upgrade the optics. There are are few users and installers down under too, should you require that. Take Care
