Posted by Marco I think we might have to abandon the eq-2 option because i found the RA finee control lever had no effect on moving the OTA with the counter weight set at the foot/end of the pole. I reset it halfway and the OTA began to move. i carried on turning the knob but did not find a stop point; i stopped when the OTA came into contact with the tripod. I then tried returning back but the OTA did not move because of the position of the counter weight. You probably understand why this is so. I am happy to proceed if you feel confident that this can be rectified; and if the 'goto' package can be utilised on either a eq3 or eq5, if i run into problems. The DEC = 12 Marco
