OMG.. This is weird. I was updating my address book to see if some of the people in it are still alive (at my age one can't make any assumptions) So just now I phoned Bert Sachs in Queens. An older woman answered and I said
"hello, Gail?" There was silence. Then a man came to the phone and guess what? It was Bert! Gail died 6 years ago and Bert has remarried.
I don't know if you remember me, but I was the photo counsellor in '68-'69. You always liked being on my trips and I think I even have a picture of you on one of them. If I find it I'll post it.
I too visited the Farm three years ago this summer. The place looked good. The old barn is still there. Does anyone remember when the barn tower bell cracked (like the Liberty Bell?) and I and another counsellor drove Harold's Caddy to Ohio to get a replacement. As I recall, by the time we returned with it, he had found another one locally. When I was there the last time I tried to visit Sue at her law office but discovered that she was very ill and a few months later had passed away. On a previous visit about five years ago I visited her in Livingston Manor and got to speak to Bea on the phone. She retired in Florida.
I'm currently retired and am a full time RVer. My partner still works and his job takes us to various places, staying a few months at a time. Right now we're in the Seattle area staying in our 5th wheel trailer at a state park. I'm the park host and get to live here for free. I love this area but the weather has been horrible the past few weeks. We had a very white Christmas, which, while not unknown to happen, happens rarely. And of course there's the normal constant clouds and misty rain. Next stop: Las Vegas? We're not sure.
Hope to hear from some of you old timers who remember me from back in the day.
