Wow this has brought back some fun memories. I was a counselor (from the UK)for 1 season but it ranks as one of my favorite traveling experiences. I taught Go-carting on the top field and Art in the barn but I definitely learned more than I ever imparted. Some of the most fun things I remember were building the 'Counselor Special' go-cart and then having to retrieve some kid from a tree as he'd driven off the end of the track going to fast. I still remember what he was screaming when we pulled him out of the tree but won't share. Getting the princesses to get their hands dirty with clay - 'eww gross' was the usual comment and working in the barn after Sniffy or snuffles the camp skunk had sprayed in there 'ew gross'. Being bitten by a garter snake at Beaverkill, US versus the rest of the world Baseball, yeh we kicked your ass, Andy Haber teaching me to Juggle - Thanks for your patience Andy my kids are most impressed. A lighten strike on the Basket ball court that nearly fried some kid and oh so many more. Overall the comradery of the Counselors and the good friends I made at LF left wonderful impression. I totally fell in love with America that summer and it's probably the reason I now live in the States as apposed to England. I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers the fun we had that season, Paul, my partner in crime at go-carting, Wayne and Mike the Aussies at the lake, Dina you're out there somewhere I'm sure.
