Imagine, a Lincoln Farm alum site. Why am I thinking about a summer 42 years ago? No answer. The strange persistence of memory, I guess: welding steel, weekend trips in the back of those old stake-bed trucks including one to Tanglewood where I heard Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee and no classical music I can recall, beatnik-hippie counselors exerting bad influences of all kinds, a late night camper rebellion mid-summer, a counselor dismissed for, um, fraternizing, a discussion group the introduced me to asian religion, a rock music study group (!) where we listened to a 45 of "All You Need Is Love" the week it was released, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, and Cream. And lying on that central lawn, looking at clouds, self aware for the first time (12) that I was lying on a lawn looking at clouds. Inaccessible older cooler girls, oh, especially, those inacessible older cooler girls. I remember names! I'll keep silent! Take care.
