The players were: Mick Diver I believe Richard Crane is now on the academic staff at the University of Sussex. I always thought it a great shame that this show was never given a full scale professional production. Certainly it deserved a wider audience. Hoping this helps. I just found your question whilst browsing the web. Dave Wells (sound engineer & member of tech crew)

: Does anyone know anything about a musical
: called Satan's Ball, which was an adaption
: of the classic Bulgakhov novel, The Master
: and Margarita. It was on in the Ediburgh
: Fringe about 15 years ago, and I can't
: find anything on it.
:
Written by Richard Crane and directed by his wife Faynia Williams, this was presented by the University of Bradford Drama Group at the Fringe in 1977. It won a Fringe First award and excellent reviews. The venue was the Old Chaplancy Centre, which we converted into a theatre by building a floor across the gallery.
