The canal was free of ice at the shed at 2pm today but there were some thin sheets around bridge 25, where barges had cleared a path.
The forecast for tonight is -1, so it might freeze a bit more but it should still be possible for an ice breaking party to clear enough of a path for us to have some sort of paddle.
Ned, Vicky and I will set off about 9:30 in plastic boats, come and join the fun then or turn up for the start. I suggest we start a little bit later than the usual 10:00 because the pub doesn't open till 12:00.
