Look at it this way in the natural family, if you tell your child to stay out of the cookie jar and he willfully disobeys he's still in your family, but he's broken fellowship, but still in your family you don't kick him out, hence in the family of God once a person has asked Jesus to come into their heart you will sin, ask for forgiveness and all is restored, but when you sin you've broken fellowship, but you are still in relationship, the family of God!
