Representatives from the State of Alaska and Tanana Chiefs Conference are here in our area to get local community input regarding future housing options for those of us who plan to live in the McGrath region during our older years. They will also be travelling to Nikolai and Takotna over the next couple of days.
There are several living arrangement options (i.e. renting your own one or two-bedroom apartment), elegibility requirements, funding assistance, out-of-pocket expenses, etc. for older persons who no longer wish to live completely independently.
Some options seem out of the realm of financial possibility for most of us and other options sound really reasonable and would be something that many of us would like to see in our community.
Please stop by at 7pm, hear what the options are and voice your opinion and share your interest in what you'd like to see available for your later years.
WHAT? Opportunioty for Community Input from those residents age 55 and older in particular
WHEN? Wed. @7pm
WHERE? Cap'n Snow Center Assembly Room
Refreshments will be served.
See you then!
