Zeeland Farm Services, Inc., a diversified agri-business, is seeking a bright, creative individual to work as part of our Marketing team. The Assistant Marketing and Communications Manager would provide key support to all ZFS divisions through assisting in the marketing plan development and implementation, trade show and event planning, collateral development, management of the e-marketing (web and email) programs and research, production of internal newsletters and other company-related communications. The Assistant Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible to evaluate opportunities, develop & implement public relations and corporate communications plans for ZFS departments in response to those opportunities. Responsibilities for this role include:
•Assists in maintaining a defined communications strategy that conforms to marketing/advertising plans. Assists in analyzing corporate and departmental marketing, advertising and promotional needs and provide solutions to those needs. Serves as newsletter editor for company newsletters.
•Develops public relation contacts and relationships. Maintains database with media representatives to create opportunities for keeping ZFS and its products/services in front of industry, public, and customers.
•Develops ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations, and other public relations activities that promote awareness of ZFS and ZFS products/services and services.
•Coordinates with marketing staff on writing/editing of communications and email via Exact Target/other similar services. Serves as the primary editor of email marketing.
•Works with inside and outside designers to develop advertising, collateral and newsletter materials.
•Conducts interviews and takes photographs for company advertising and PR needs.
•Research and prepare copy for electronic & print newsletters, brochures, and other company related literature and communications. Proofreads and edits documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format. Corrects errors.
•Ensures consistency in various corporate communications to internal and external customers.
•Coordinates with and manages contractors, vendors, and other outside suppliers to assure timeliness and accuracy of work and products while staying within the guidelines of a set budget.
•Assists in coordinating activities involved in the planning and implementation of trade shows.
•Advises management on community relations’ projects and activities.
•Requires 1-3 years marketing experience for a manufacturing environment
•Candidates should also be organized and posses computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Design.
•Analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills along with creative thinking ability.
•Must be able to concisely, logically, and accurately present issues verbally and in written format.
•Must possess excellent organizational, time management, judgment, and decision-making skills.
