You may have made a mistake, but you have hit on one of the biggest problems here, parents abusing the rules. I can't believe how many people on this board alone have said...now how many weigh ins does my wrestler have to have? If they wrestle in any AAU, MMWA or MYWAY finals, they know there are rules. Clubs have the responsibility to attend meetings and read the literature and relay it to their parents. We had a parent who let her son wrestle light in the MYWAY regional. I told her that we needed to go to pairing and change his chart. She didn't want to do that hoping for some success for her son. I informed her that under no circumstances would he be allowed to go to state and she was o.k. with that. We as a club would have disqualified him had he placed. Parents and clubs need to police themselves to help organizations like MYWAY and MMWA. I will suggest to the MYWAY board that they do a tournament weigh in sheet like MMWA in the future. It's a pain for clubs but sounds critical.
