SPOILER and the idea that Kate is in over her head is one that has been part of her since the beginning. yeah, the MH history doesn't relate to her directly, but that is part of what interests me: a hero who chooses a name w/out regard to the implications and the legacy. it would have been much easier to say she's paul kirk's long lost daughter or something, but the randomness of her ties to the Manhunter legacy make it, i hope, a fresher take. and, yep, the MH history is convoluted (trust me --- i read all of the comics and had to draw some charts and graphs), but what we've done is not a retcon that disregards anything. i made a huge effort to keep stuff around, perhaps with a new twist to it, but, as mentioned, things are not quite as straightforward as they seem. and, nope, i didn't make shaw nuts or evil. he was a pawn being used, then abandoned by the folks who "made" him. and being left "out in the cold" as OMAC rises to power is not an enviable place to be..... thanks for reading, I'm not that familiar with Manhunter. I did buy the Mark Shaw book, but I don't remember it at all beacuse it's been literally years since I last read the issues. So, I'm not at all upset like some other DC readers are over what Marc has written in Manhunter#13 in regards to Manhunter history. Not only that, the story hasn't finished playing out yet, either. Right now, I love this book and it's an engaging read! I hope it lasts a long time, but I will enjoy it right up to the end for sure!

...yes, mark shaw was manipulated by those who implanted the MH tech in him, but not everything is explained away as hallucinations (you'll see as some of these threads play out past the main arc).
anyway, some BIG stuff with Kate front and center is just around the corner (the last arc before the "one-year-later" jump is a doozy.....)
