Scott,
We all missed you, and a lot of the other regular folks.
I think we had 65 entries.
Craig had his hands full with all kinds of problems, but solved them all. Friday night there was an unexpected deluge which made prepping the track a major chore in the morning. The flaggers didn't show up, so he had to scramble the family and friends to help out with flagging and many other tasks. During practice the ambulance had to go and rescue an equestrian and its steed, who apparently had a run in with a horseless carriage.
Through all of this Craig kept his cool and we were riding by about 10:30 I think. It actually was beneficial to have the delay since this allowed the track to dry out some more. There were no complaints by anyone, I dare say everyone enjoyed themselves.
After all these attempts to thwart the races things went off unimpeded and smoothly. The ambulance didn't move again, and there were very few crashes. There were some interesting close calls however.
The Landis, Jensen and Ryan/Stillwell crew did an outstanding job with running the event.
A good time was had by all.
The kids and I stayed overnight and rode Sat PM and Sun AM. Thanks a bunch Craig!
