thanks for coming! it seemed like everyone had a great time, morning mud notwithstanding. yes it was more than a little greasy but turned into a great track by late morning. we had about 85 entries so everyone needs to let their friends know how much fun they are having so we can get over 100 entries per race. that helps make everything work for the track. get the word out! and, by golly, it rained during the night friday night and MARK EISEN DIDN"T RUN AWAY BACK TO HOME THIS YEAR!!! hooray. we had several new minnesota and wisconsin riders come up after the race and say how much fun it was to get back on the track with old bikes and friendly people. and it is great to have eric b and the missouri crew racing with us this year. you guys are gonna LOVE sully! speaking of sully, that is the next race june 20. mark your calendars and be there for a fantastically fun track. the spectating is also great there so you can watch virtually the whole track and enjoy the racing. if i can just get jimmy and airborne horn and scott mckay to come so we can have a couple of close races for fun spectating. (gene wostenholm is on injured reserve list in vintage 250 expert...) if craig and becky hayes are there we'll have some more close racing. craig beat me moto 1 of evo 500 expert this weekend- and that is even though he STOPPED TO ADJUST HIS REAR BRAKE!!! ARRGH. (i did just barely edge him out the 2nd moto when it wasn't muddy). the administrative crew also made a bungle this weekend by disqualifying mike corey in the grand national class because he was riding a brand new honda. but mike politely informed us his brand new "old tech" crf actually meets tech requirements for innovation class (air cooled, front disc rear drum) so, of course, we re-qualified him. talk about feeling stupid... anyway, when you think the organizers really are stupid, feel free to step right up and run one of these things yourself, i think you'll get a whole new perspective!
anyway thanks to all for coming and riding. thanks for all the positive comments and constructive criticism. please come to more races and have fun with your bikes and friends!
