Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, there are no more ties to this house for me. My grandparents are gone and neither had lived in that house for about twenty years. I am curious if the current occupants have witnessed anything. Having had this experience, I am always open to such things. It's almost like I can tell if there is a prescence somewhere. Here's something new I'd like to mention: The house I bought last year was built in 1968. The people who built it were the only people to live there. The man died a few years back; the wife died, I believe, in the house, about three years ago. I feel there is a prescence in this house.
1) While sitting in the living room, my wife and I have both caught something out of the corner of our eyes in the hallway. It's a definite movement as if someone is walking by. This has happened on many, many occassions. We both noticed this movement several times before we told one another about it. When we compared notes, both stories matched.
2) My wife was once sitting at the kitchen table using her lap top, she was facing the sink. She said she once saw a "smoky"/shimmery figure of a woman standing at the sink.
3) About one month ago, my wife was, again, using her lap top at the kitchen table. I was sitting in my recliner in the living room dozing. Our kids were in bed. I wasn't asleep, but, I was startled up by a loud voice yelling something in the room. Sounded as if it came from the hallway or just through the hallway door. I couldn't make out what was said but it came across as an exclamation. Possibly, "What's going on here!" or "What are you doing?!" It was a woman's voice. I jerked up and asked my wife "Huh? What did you say?" She said, "Uhhhhhh, I didn't say anything." I told here it must have been one of the kids in bed. She said, "No, it wasn't them. I heard a woman's voice yell somehing in there!" We were creeped out! I went and checked on the boys. They were sound asleep.
4) On occasion, there is a smell of a cigarette burning. Usually, the smell is strongest in the hallway or the bathroom just off the hallway (across from the hallway door I heard the voice). Sometimes, the cigarette smell is in the kitchen. The smell is not of cigarette residue. The smell is of an actual lit cigarette. Several neighbors, who knew the original owners of the house, said that the woman "smoked heavily". I think the ol' gal is checking on things around "her" house.
