I had an experience that I'm wondering if anyone else has had involving my dog, Divot. She's a min pin and is not what you would call people-friendly and tends to show her but when strange people are in her "territory." However, on the night of my mother-in-law's death, when many different people were in and out, many Divot had never seen before, she stayed on the couch between my husband and I and acted like a perfect little lady. She's a miniature pinscher and can be a little s*** when she wants to be. That night, when my mother-in-law drew her very last breath, this little dog who had been so well-behaved the entire day (extremely unusual - in fact, it had never happened before or since) started making this horrible noise, ran out of the room like her tail was on fire, hid under the bed and refused to come out for any reason. When she finally did, she was shaking uncontrollably. It was not exactly a peaceful death but it wasn't what I expected either. I am convinced that she saw something other-worldly, especially considering the timing. There were other weird things that happened at the time of her death but this was the most profound thing that happened.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or know someone who has? I'd be very interested because there's no logical or rational explanation for how she responded at the exact moment she took her last breath. If so, please email me at brenda_alexander3@yahoo.com.
