Posted by Baron Bliss on September 24, 2006, 8:00 am I have fond memories of his conducting the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the BBC Studio 7, Oxford Road, Manchester in a programme of his own music to celebrate his 65th birthday. The works were the 'Philharmonic Concerto', 'Fantasy on a Theme of John Field' and the Symphony No. 7. Thank you Sir Malcolm.

I would like to pay my respects to this underrated and often maligned composer. Sir Malcolm’s music has provided me with a great amount of pleasure over the years.
