Posted by Tim Perry She had it on a cassette, taped from a French radio show many years back. Having heard it for myself, my curiosity is piqued. The familiar tunes are all there in the faithful trnascription, but Debussy's dialect is also clear. Frustratingly, the broadcast tape did not identify the pianist! Does anyone know if a recording of Debussy's transcription is currently available?

A work colleague bamboozled me today. "Do you know the Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso?" she asked. The violin showpiece by Saint-Saens? Of course! "Have you heard the piano version?" Well, yes, but I must say I prefer violin and orchestra to violin and piano. "No, I mean the solo piano version. Transcribed by Debussy." Never heard it and never heard of it.
