Thanks Chris and Tony. I'm not sure about Menuhin's 4th go - I have heard one of his recordings with Furtwängler, which I liked, but I'm afraid I don't have much faith in his later recordings as a rule. As much as I admire Klemperer's Beethoven, I think I'll leave that recording to one side, for now at least. The Szeryng sounds interesting though. I'll keep an eye out for it! Cheers Tim
