Yes, I wondered whether the success of their 'fake' concert pianist had given him the seeds of the Hatto idea. Of course, having finally reviewed one of her discs, Grandados' Goyescas, and been suitably impressed, I've gone back and tried to work who it really is. Actually,as Paul suggests above, it doesn't alter my appreciation of this performance, I simply want to know whose playing it really is if it's not her, which is now highly likely. A careful headphone session revealed some quite masculine grunts and sniffs which I hadn't noticed - though maybe I'm now searching for clues - and a different acoustic for some of the tracks, which I did mention, could now be the doctoring of the piano, acoustic etc. I guess it will be a talking point for a long time to come and these 'originals' could well become collectable. A final word from some wag on one of the newsgroups who have been chattering non-stop all weekend about this - an anagram of Joyce Hatto is Joy to cheat !
