Posted by Dominy Clements on February 20, 2007, 10:18 am, in reply to "Re: Hatto? Ha!" My apologies John - that was my review. I often go back to discs to make sure I wasn't having a purple moment, and in this case I stand by my words and still love the disc - as I do by the 'Hatto' discs I reviewed. I don't know if anyone else feels the way I do, but some of us reviewers might require some kind of 'post Hatto stress syndrome' therapy. I know I've had to take a critical look at my own abilities and feel miserable about the whole rotten affair. I hadn't heard any of the 'Hatto Hype' before writing however, so again, I stand by my opinions of the discs and look forward to hearing who really did record that amazing Messiaen. It's easy to be a wise fool after the fact, but I only wish I'd heard even a whiff of the fraud scandal - it might have made me a little less suggestible.

"...when I finally played Lislevand's Nuove musiche on ECM, purchased based on a rave review in MW, I decided it was dreadful."
