With reference to John France's enthusiastic review of "The Long Day Closes" posted today... Sorry to have to pull you up on a seemingly minor matter of fact - but W S Gilbert did NOT write the words to Cox and Box (1866) - that was Francis Cowley Burnand, who later became editor of Punch. The first collaboration between W S Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan was "Thespis" in 1871. I have not yet seen the disc, but I hope that the above mistake was not printed in the CD booklet - that would be too clumsy!
