I enjoyed Rob's review of the Lyrita release of the Organ Concerto (dedicated to Boult) and the Piano Concerto 3. I have the old LP and if my memory serves me correctly, saw Williamson perform the Organ Concerto under Boult at the Proms, many years ago (I recall that it went down extremely well). Unlike Rob, I like the Williamson Violin Concerto and find the haunting last movement very moving indeed, although I agree that the Berkeley Violin concerto on the same LP/CD was a disappontment (unlike the fine Concerto for Two Pianos now on Chandos and Lyrita). I am especially delighted that Lyrita will be issuing Groves's Liverpool performance of Williamson's underrated Symphony 1 "Elvamini". For me, this was the highlight of the old double EMI LP set which Rob mentioned in his review; picked up be me on one of many memorable trips to "Farrigdon Records" in Cheapside...I could always be assured of picking up something interesting...ie Novak's "The Storm" on a double Suppraphon LP or a Swedish EMI version of Hilding Rosenberg's Third Symphony (complete with annoying "click" running right through the last movement!)
