Posted by Amy Baer on October 31, 2007, 4:45 am Don’t know if you have heard about this composer Steve Horowitz but he is the guy who wrote the original music score to the film Super Size Me. He also writes really inventive and clever concert music, has 10 discs (available on iTunes) and I thought you might like his stuff. The latest CD is called Un-Natural Acts and has received some decent reviews. His CDs Chamber Music Volumes I and II include unique and original string quartets, and collections of chamber works composed for rock band. Here is a link to an iMix I made with highlights of the some of the best of his works: I’ve had the opportunity to work with Steve Horowitz though the Manhattan Producers Alliance (a team of composers & producers in NYC). I’ve had the opportunity to shadow him and the other composers. His works continue to impress me. You can check out his myspace page here: If you like any of these artists, then you're sure to enjoy Steve's music: Zappa, Beefhart, Xenakis, Schoenberg,Hank Williams, George Jones, Todd Rundgren, Ligeti, Bernard Herrman, Jerry Goldsmith, Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, Beatles, Stones, Bach, Bill Monroe, Zepplin, David Shire, Lucky Mosko, Hostetler, Fink, Jaco, Charlie Hayden, Mark Dresser, Anthony Braxton, Train, Monk, Hendrix, Marlee.
