Martin, what a coincidence! I too thought of the 1976 Boult Proms performance when I read Jonathan's review. In fact,that performance did enjoy a second lease of life as the cover CD on an issue of the BBC Music Magazine a few years ago, which was how I got hold of a copy. It is, indeed, a very fine performance, and an exciting one also.
It's often possible to obtain back issues of the magazine, together with the relevant CD. I don't often buy the magazine but I think I'm right in saying that every issue carries a notice giving details of how to obtain back issues. For anyone who is interested this CD was issued with Volume 14, no. 12 and the disc also included a performance of In the South (BBCSO/Slatkin) also from a Proms concert, this time in 2002
