Lyrita are making tentative steps to see if they can issues Edward Downes's RCA LSO recording of Bax's Third Symphony on CD.
It is my favourite recording of this work and was my introduction to the Bax symphonies. In the 70's my university (Lancaster) had a copy of the LP and I spent hours in the library listening to that work instead of getting on with my historical studies.I would love to see it on CD despite critical disapproval of the performance.

I am afraid I have to tell you there is no truth in this.
Adrian Farmer informs me that Lyrita have no plans to record more Bax Symphonies and there have not been any discussions with Sony/BMG over Ted Downes's Bax 3.
