I enjoyed reading this enthusiastic review and am very tempted to buy the CD. But I do have the EMI Références remastering of the Violin Concerto, which disappointed me as a transfer that did not do justice to the performance. So I am asking you, Miguel, or anyone else, whether you can confirm that the sound here is more satisfactory, as one would of course expect with Ward Marston responsible for the transfer.
Otherwise, my favourite historical recordings of the Violin Concerto are by Francescatti/ Mitropoulos, Neveu/Schmidt-Isserstedt and Milstein/De Sabata, so you can see that a bit of pop snap and crackle doesn't bother me. There are various superb Oistrach recordings, of course.
