It is perhaps worth pointing out, in case there are any starved would-be Lélio fans reading this, that the classic recording is by Boulez, once on CBS then a deleted Sony 3-CD Berlioz box (still available on Amazon) - I have the original 2-LP set with the Fantastique. The great Barrault (of Les Enfants du Paradis etc) is the incomparable speaker. The Fantastique is an icy modernist performance, unique of its kind.
There are other recordings out there, Dutoit comes to mind, and the Brilliant box with Inbal must be worth a try on all accounts - I haven't got round to this yet; on the RCA/BMG reissue of the Tilson Thomas Fantastique (the most hallucinatory orchestral recording of all I have heard) there are solely the Choeur des Ombres and the Tempest fantasy - at that price unmissable.
