I am so grateful to Warner for releasing the full Miaskovsky cycle. Granted that the notes were sparse and the wonderful 23rd symphony and 18th were mislabeled,I have not heard such glorious music in years. And at a bargain price no less!
I have now come to believe that Myaskovsky was truly one of the greatest composers who ever lived, and Svetlanov knew how to bring out all the nuances of this genius.
