Yes, it is wonderful we can now access all the symphonies on some exciting, if sometimes brash, recordings. I hope that current enthusiasm for these works might bring about further performances, and (fingers tightly crossed) alternative recordings.
In the meantime, let no-one forget the very interesting quartets. Russian Disc released six CDs of the complete quartets performed by the Taneyev Quartet. These have reappeared on Northern Flowers, and I have little difficulty in recommending them to others.
And then, of course, there are two cycles of the Piano Sonatas.....
