In his interesting review of the Lyrita boxed set of Bax's piano music, John France writes: 'Graham Parlett, in his online catalogue of Bax's music, notes that Winter Waters is not one of his favourites'. I have no idea where this statement came from, but it is completely untrue: as a matter of fact, I consider it to be one of his very best piano pieces. May I also just point out that Paean (Passacaglia) is included in the set (disc three)?
