John France's strong advocacy of this disc will surely tempt others, as it has tempted me.
In fact, part of the work, the setting of Fern Hill, has already appeared on a previous Naxos release. On that disc the solo is taken by a meezo-soprano. That disc is American Choral Music by Suzanne Mentzer (mezzo-soprano)with The University of Texas Chamber Singers & Chamber Orchestra directed by James Morrow. (8.559299)
There's a review at http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2007/May07/American_choral_8559299.htm
