To clarify : the issue of audience applause is a red herring. The point I was making that at most new productions the team responsble tend to get at least a few boos as a matter of course. This did not happen on Monday. It seems to me that Mr Berry finds it difficult to accept challenge to the judgement he has delivered from on high. I beg to differas didmuch of the audience as well as leading critics who enjoyed the performance. Of course there is a place for differing opinins as there should be, but please don't tell me my opinion, or anyone else's is not valid. I suspect this could drag out into a juvenile exercise in getting the last word in so I shall respond no further. Mr Berry may have the last word if he wishes there will be no more here from me.
