I think that Simonsen is just as good, if not greater than those other Scandinavian composers. I prefer him to Rangstron (although I like Rangstrom's First Symphony). Atterberg's 3rd and 8th are fine works as is Peterson-Berger's 3rd and 5th symphonies - but Simonsen can hold his head high in that distinguished company!
