Simon Thompson's enthusiastic review of the above, like the others I've read, encourages me to try it out. However, I am slightly bemused by a review that begins "Before sitting down to listen to these discs I had only ever read about Bernstein’s Mass and the comments were universally disparaging" and ends "It may be the cheapest Mass on the market but it’s also by far the best". In between there is nary a word about the other recordings: have you listened to them or haven't you? It would be nice to know.
